Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR, manage equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Document intraoperative data and assist with aftercare as needed.

Job Summary

Operating Room Open Heart in the CVOR service line supports routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures in a high-volume surgical environment. The role requires independent performance across a broad range of procedures, including cardiac bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, thoracic procedures, and vascular interventions.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of recent full-time experience as a CVOR CST in a high-volume hospital setting; demonstrated proficiency in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures; ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment; active license or required professional certification; verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour weekday shifts from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., usually Monday through Thursday, based on department needs; 40 hours per week; participation in after-hours and weekend call coverage is required.
• Additional Information: The CVOR service line supports routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve repair and replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, adult ECMO, TAVR, laparoscopic and open thoracic procedures, robot-assisted procedures, and endovascular vascular interventions. Candidates must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal onboarding.
