Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR role. Must have recent open heart scrub experience and EPIC proficiency to support CV cases in a busy surgery unit.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile fields, passing instruments, counts with the RN, and maintaining supplies. Day shift with about 50% call, travel-friendly and opportunities to mentor RNs are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent open heart scrub experience.
• Recent experience in the specialty within last 3 months.
• Ability to scrub open heart cases independently or with a second scrub tech.
• CST or TS-C NCCT certification required; BLS required.
• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree preferred.
• Possess or be eligible for applicable license.

Responsibilities

• Work in hospital OR within Surgery unit on day shift 7:00 AM–5:30 PM.
• Provide call coverage approximately 50% of the time.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for case documentation and orders.
• Prepare sterile field; retract and pass instruments to surgeons.
• Perform instrument, sponge, needle counts with RN.
• Assemble and check supplies and equipment for each case.
• Maintain equipment inventory and perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Transport patients per unit schedules and priorities.
• May teach or train RNs to scrub CV cases.
• Vaccinations required; exemptions considered.
• Local candidates welcomed; no radius restriction.
