Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR travel assignment in Louisiana. This role requires active Louisiana or Compact RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with CVOR expertise.

The position includes a day shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 7-room CVOR unit handling 10–25 cases daily and on-call coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Housing and licensure reimbursement are offered.

Qualifications

Active Louisiana or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum 2 years of OR experience; CVOR experience specifically required.
NURSYS report current within 4 weeks.
2 Manager/Supervisor references required for clearance to start; Charge RNs not acceptable.
Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position.
Prior Ochsner Health System staff or contractors must have been separated for at least 1 full year to return as a traveler.

Responsibilities

Day shift schedule, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts).
7-room CVOR unit handling 10–25 cases per day.
On-call required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
2 weekends required per 6-week schedule.
Work settings include Ambulatory OR and General OR.
Cases include cardiovascular procedures such as CABG and Aneurysm repair and various other specialties.
Epic EMR experience preferred.
