Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR in Alexandria, LA for a Cardiovascular Surgery perioperative role. The position requires CVOR and surgical scrub experience, with a 40-hour work week and day shift coverage.

The travel assignment offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and per diem options, along with travel and licensure reimbursements and paid CEUs.

Qualifications

• Active LA RN license or compact license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of recent surgical setting experience required.
• Five years of surgical scrub experience required.
• CVOR operating room experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Work in the CVOR within a hospital surgical department.
• Full-time shifts: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM with extensions as needed.
• Care for surgical patients from infants to older adults.
• Maintain 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Weekend shifts and on-call coverage are required.
• Do not float outside the OR.
• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care.
• Communicate with patients, surgical team, anesthesia, and hospital departments.
