Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVOR travel nurse in Burlington, Vermont. This role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and BLS certification, with 10‑hour shifts and a 16‑week assignment. You will circulate for cardiothoracic procedures and support a team of physicians and staff in a fast-paced OR setting.

The position emphasizes patient safety, sterile technique, and interprofessional collaboration, offering weekly pay and travel compensation as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 2 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor for breaches in sterility.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility and equipment availability.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens.
