Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVOR travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Springfield, IL. The role is a travel RN position with a standard 40-hour workweek and an 8-hour daytime shift, requiring a Cardiovascular Operating Room specialty and RN discipline.

Immediate opening for experienced CVOR RNs with BLS and appropriate certifications. The scope includes circulating for cardiothoracic surgeries and other complex procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, monitor vital signs.
• Assist physician during procedures.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor for breaches in aseptic technique.
• Coordinate the operating room with respect to sterility, equipment availability and supplies.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens.
