Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Nurse in the Illinois area. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic procedures within a Level I trauma center. The position supports a busy surgical environment, focusing on complex cardiovascular surgeries and vascular procedures.

Job Details

• Position / Specialty: OR OH Operating Room Open Heart
• Shift: 5x8 Days (06:15 AM 02:45 PM)
• Schedule: Days shift, 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois RN license or in application process, BLS certification, a minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, or vascular surgery; experience in trauma and Level I trauma centers preferred, experience with complex cardiovascular procedures such as Aortic Aneurysm repair, CABG, TAVR, and related vascular surgeries, and Laparoscopic assisted procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in acute care hospital settings, Level II trauma experience, and familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Responsibilities include assisting with cardiovascular, thoracic, and endoscopic procedures, and working within infection control and safety protocols, including laser safety and universal protocol procedures.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS.
• On-Call Requirement: Call 1-2 nights weekly and every 5th weekend.
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
• Submission Requirements: Confirm understanding of role, compliance, and housing; provide SSN and DOB; schedule interview windows; and confirm availability for upcoming holidays.
