Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (CVICU RN) to provide exceptional care for our patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The nurse will be responsible for immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, managing post-operative complications, and monitoring patients with high acuity. The successful candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and monitoring for post-operative cardiac patients.
• Manage ventilator settings and collaborate with respiratory therapy.
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment (e.g., Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella).
• Perform arterial line management, central line care, and titrate cardiac drips.
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage patient with multi-system organ dysfunction.
• Participate in rapid response and interdisciplinary care planning.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of CVICU experience required; 2 or more years preferred.
• Experience with high acuity patients and post-operative care for cardiovascular surgeries.

Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Maryland or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
