Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVICU travel nurse in Salem, Oregon to provide specialized critical care nursing in a fast-paced CVICU setting. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and ACLS/BLS certifications, with a 13-week assignment and 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

As a travel CVICU RN, you will work with a diverse team to manage open-heart surgery care, heart transplants, and other complex cases, while maintaining patient and family education and safety throughout

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in CVICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital-wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.
