Job summary

TotalMed RN in Springfield, Ohio seeks a CVICU travel nurse (RN) for a 13‑week assignment. The role requires 36 hours per week, with 12‑hour day shifts. Acute care experience is preferred and ACLS/BLS/NIH certifications are required, with some flexibility for additional certifications.

The travel nurse will care for patients after complex heart procedures and work within a fast‑paced cardiovascular unit. Strong critical thinking and patient education are essential for success on assignment.

Qualifications

• CVICU travel RN with 1–2 years acute care experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required; additional certs may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life‑threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate results.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and defibrillation hospital‑wide.
• Educate patients and families on recovery at home.
