Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVICU travel nurse in Springfield, Ohio to provide specialized care to open-heart surgery and transplant patients in a fast-paced CVICU, with 12-hour days and a 36-hour work week.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and are prepared for a 13-week travel assignment. This role offers benefits, weekly pay, and travel opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH listed in posting.
• Travel CVICU assignment with 13 weeks duration.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital-wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.
