Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CT/X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week night shift at a 25-bed critical access hospital. The role requires ARRT certification, BLS (AHA), and completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program.

Three years of CT and radiology experience is preferred. The technician will perform CT and general radiography on patients of all ages, operate CT and X-ray equipment, and work weekend/holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of CT and Radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT and general radiology including portable X-ray procedures.
• Imaging for patients from neonates to geriatrics.
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting and order entry.
• Works 3x12 night shifts: Fri-Sun, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with weekend requirements.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a CT/X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week night shift assignment at a 25-bed critical access hospital, requiring ARRT certification and 3 years of experience.

Requirements

• ARRT certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• VA state license required if applicable
• Completion of an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program required
• 3 years of experience as a CT and Rad Tech preferred
• Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology required
• Ability to perform general diagnostic and portable radiography on patients of all ages
• Ability to operate CT and X-ray equipment with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for interacting with physicians, peers, and patients
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and all shifts as needed including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• 25-bed critical access hospital setting in the CT Scan department
• Performs CT and general radiology, including portable x-ray procedures
• Patient population includes neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• 3x12 night shifts, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every Saturday and Sunday weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Performs CT and x-ray procedures according to protocol to produce quality images for patients of all ages
• Prepares equipment, positions patients, and monitors patient condition before, during, and after scanning
• Performs contrast injections as ordered by physician and reports critical findings to appropriate personnel
• Accurately enters data into HIS and RIS systems for charting and charge capture
• Assists physicians with invasive procedures as necessary
• Follows radiation safety, infection control, and national patient safety protocols
• Participates in continuing education to maintain competency
• Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue per facility dress code policy
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility
