American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT(CT) certification to perform CT and X-ray/fluoroscopy procedures, including OR coverage. The role requires active state licensure, BLS, and AMA-approved radiology training.

The position features a weekend 12-hour shift pattern (Fri–Sun) with 36 hours weekly and a 13-week assignment. Strong patient handling and safety focus are essential.

Formación

• Active state license required if applicable.

• Completion of formal radiology technology training from an AMA-approved program.
• Must be registered/certified CT Technologist through ARRT.

Responsabilidades

• Perform CT and X-ray/fluoroscopy procedures, including OR cases.
• Operate CT scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
• Administer oral and/or IV contrast media as ordered by Radiologist.
• Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• 36 guaranteed hours per week, 13-week assignment.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort during scans.
• Enter scan parameters into scanner computer and ensure image quality.
• Transport patients as needed and assist in special procedures.

Requirements

• Active state license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ARRT(CT) certification required
• Completion of formal radiology technology training from an AMA-approved program
• Must be registered/certified CT Technologist through ARRT
• Manual dexterity to start an IV required
• Ability to lift/move patients and equipment from 40-80 lbs unassisted and 80-250 lbs with assistance
• Considerable walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and some climbing required
• Ability to hear and respond to equipment prompts and alarms
• Ability to verbally communicate with patients

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic imaging department performing CT and X-ray/fluoroscopy procedures, including OR cases
• Operates CT scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic purposes
• Administers oral and/or IV contrast media as ordered by referring physician or Radiologist
• Weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Performs a variety of technical procedures under the direction of a Radiologist, applying independent judgment for radiologic diagnosis
• Positions and immobilizes patients using supportive devices per Radiologist protocols
• Enters scan parameters such as slice thickness and scan time into scanner computer
• Monitors patient safety and comfort via intercom and observation window during scans
• Evaluates exam images for technical quality and ensures CT area quality control
• Assists in performing special procedures
• Practices sterile technique and universal precautions
• Transports patients according to their physical abilities for requested exams
• Maintains records per department policies and restocks linens/supplies as needed
• Cleans exam rooms following each procedure
