Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Boston, MA is seeking a Travel CT Technologist for a 13-week, 40-hour per week assignment, evenings. The ideal candidate has 1 year CT experience, BLS, ARRT CT certification, and CT registration; state licensing as required.

You will operate CT equipment, position patients, administer contrast, ensure image quality, and relay results to physicians. You will follow radiation safety and document procedures, using McKesson PACS daily.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience in CT imaging.
• BLS and ARRT (CT) certification with CT registration.
• State licensing as required.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required.
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions.
• Position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies.
• Use CT equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues.
• Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance visibility.
• Evaluate CT scans for technical quality.
• Follow radiation safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system.
