American Traveler is seeking a night-shift CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Elgin, Illinois. The role requires 1+ year CT experience in a Level II Trauma Center ED and pediatric exposure is preferred.

The position features 4x10 hour nights (6:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.), weekend rotation every other weekend, on-call overnight duties, and no patient floating. ARRT-CT and BLS are required, with GE Revolution HD and Epic EMR experience highly valued.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift CT Technologist with 1+ years of CT experience in a Level II Trauma Center ED setting.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, Primary Stroke Center with 255 beds
• Unit has 2 scanners
• All scans performed in the ED, covering inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients
• Approximately 25-30% pediatric patients (peds experience preferred)
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• 10hr night shift, 6:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, except during scheduled weekend rotation
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• On-call required overnight, 2x per month (could include weekends)
• Holiday coverage required every other major holiday
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active BLS and ARRT certification required; ARRT-CT preferred
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience in a hospital setting required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Required scan experience: general anatomy, stroke alerts, CTA perfusion studies, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and head
• Coronary studies (TAVRs) and procedural experience (biopsies, drains) preferred
• Experience with IV starts required
• Experience with GE Revolution HD required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• At least one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Works independently on night shift with other CT techs available for support
• RRT/Code Blue team support available
• Transport available for inpatient scans; CT tech responsible for transporting ED patients
• Rad tech support often available for transport assistance
• Alaris IV Pumps and Pyxis used on unit
• Orientation includes at least one shift on the unit to learn workflow
• All RTO requests subject to manager approval
• Scrub color: Ceil Blue
