Job summary

American Traveler in Lexington, KY is hiring a CT Technologist with 3+ years of experience and ARRT CT certification for a first-shift hospital assignment.

The role requires ARRT Radiography and CT certification, BLS, and a KY radiation license where applicable. Experience with Siemens equipment is preferred, along with a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Willingness to work 5x8 schedule, including call, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CT Technologist experience.
• 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience required.
• Associate’s degree from a JRCERT accredited Radiology Program or military training graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program with active ARRT Certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ARRT Registry in Radiography RT(R).
• ARRT (CT) certification required.
• Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, required if applicable.
• Experience with Siemens equipment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and eye-hand coordination.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• CT Scan department in a hospital setting.
• 1st shift schedule, 5x8s Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Call, weekends, and holidays required.
• Performs CT procedures and related computer processing techniques to produce diagnostic images.
• Performs CT procedures, image quality assurance, and equipment quality control.
• Verifies patient orders, identity, and history prior to exams.
• Performs and documents peripheral venipuncture as needed.
• Monitors patients throughout exams and applies radiation protection protocols including ALARA.
• Adjusts pediatric exam protocols per ACR Image Gently guidelines.
• Assists radiologists and providers with exams and procedures as necessary.
• Participates in training new staff and supervising imaging students during clinical rotations.
• Wears assigned personal dosimetry.
• Maintains continuing education hours as required by licensing agency.
