Job summary

Total Tool, a NEFCO company, is hiring a Field Service Technician for the Crane & Hoist Division. You will travel to customer sites to perform OSHA-required inspections and maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues to ensure safe, efficient operations.

Bring electrical aptitude and a can-do attitude; training is provided. Expect to travel regularly, use company vehicles, and engage with customers to suggest improvements while maintaining detailed

Qualifications

• Willing to travel 5–7 overnights per month across the Midwest; company vehicles provided.
• Experience with electrical controls, including VFDs, contactors, and transformers.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
• Comfort working at heights and performing physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic systems to determine causes.
• Advise customers on safety and repair recommendations; document services electronically.
• Identify value-added opportunities and report leads to service office per guidelines.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and support outside sales and management.
• Manage inventory in service vehicles; perform cycle counts and stocking tasks.
• Assist with daily/monthly work lists and inspections for trailers and lifts.
