Job summary

Total Tool, a NEFCO company, is a leading provider of tools, equipment, rentals, repairs, and custom solutions. The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites across the Midwest to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

You’ll document work, discuss safety improvements, and support sales while maintaining vehicle stock. Must be willing to travel 5–7 overnights per month; electrical control experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical controls including VFDs, contactors, 230/460V and transformers.
• Willingness to travel approximately 5–7 overnights per month across the Midwest.
• Must pass DOT physical and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural and electronic issues on site.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety improvements.
• Document service activities using company digital tools.
• Identify value-added opportunities and report leads.
• Participate in monthly safety meetings and support sales staff.
• Manage and stock inventory in service vehicles.
• Assist with daily/monthly checklists and inspections.
