Job summary

Healthforce Healthcare LLC is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment in Buzzards Bay, MA. The role runs for 13 weeks with a 35-hour work week in a skilled nursing setting, starting 10/26/2026. You will deliver focused OT services, assess residents, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning.

Applicants must have an MA COTA license or eligibility and an associate degree. Prior rehab/geriatric care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license or eligibility.
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing environment and communicate clearly with residents and teammates.
• Prior experience in rehabilitation or geriatric care is preferred.
• Eligibility to work during the scheduled shift pattern and comply with assignment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual OT services to residents under supervision according to the care plan, focusing on activities of daily living, mobility, and functional skills.
• Assess residents, establish measurable goals, implement treatment sessions, and document progress in the charting system.
• Develop and adjust treatment plans based on resident response, incorporating therapeutic activities to promote independence and safety.
• Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment, transfer techniques, activity modification, and fall-prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP, nursing, social work) to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
• Maintain infection control practices, ensure safety during therapy sessions, and comply with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
