Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Consultant to deliver exceptional service for Defense & Government travelers in Fort Leavenworth, KS. You will arrange domestic and international travel, manage complex itineraries, and act as a trusted advisor to ensure the best traveler experience from start to finish.

The role requires Sabre GDS experience, 3+ years in travel consulting, and US citizenship due to federal contracting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as Travel Consultant.
• Experience with GDS (Sabre) across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow; TEC I applications accepted.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel for air, rail, road and accommodations for corporate clients.
• Ensure reservations meet client standards and preferences.
• Act as trusted advisor with informed recommendations for best traveler experience.
• Handle bookings from simple to complex with multi-destinations and fare options.
• Make changes or resolve issues during or after travel assignments.
• Conduct analysis on travel options and upsell additional services.
• Utilize Sabre GDS to manage bookings.
• Support walk-ins, emails, queues and phone inquiries.

In this role, you'll join our U.S. Military and Government team, specializing in seamless travel management services to our federal clients.

As a Travel Consultant, you will provide outstanding customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after their business trips. Through our winning combination of outstanding people and innovative technology, we're focused on ensuring that the travel experience of our customers is unforgettable from start to finish, for all the right reasons.

What You'll Do

• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups)
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences
• Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best traveler experience
• Handle a wide range of bookings from simple ones to complex bookings with potentially non-standard and multi-destinations, ticket exchanges, and complex fares
• Make changes or solve any issues that might occur during or before the travel assignments including both routine and non-routine work
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and pro-actively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services. Use positive telephone service techniques and act on special customer requests
• Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre usage
• This position supports walk ins, emails, queues and phones

What We're Looking For

• 3 or more years' experience working as a Travel Consultant
• Experience in GDS (Sabre) across both local and global markets
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract
• A genuine passion for high-quality customer service - we care about our customers and it's important to us that you do
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• A positive, "can do" attitude.
• Willingness to learn and grow!

The US national base salary range for this position is from $36000 - $79000 Annually.

The national range provided includes the base salary that the company expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
