Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Travel Consultant to support defense and government travelers before, during, and after business trips. You will build travel plans across air, hotel, car, and rail, ensure adherence to client standards, and act as a trusted advisor with informed recommendations to optimize each journey.

Join a team focused on exceptional service, with training and tools to stay current. The role primarily handles phone and walk-in inquiries from Fort Bliss, TX, with a competitive US base

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Basic MS Office knowledge required.
• Military experience or certifications welcome as substitutes.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and complete travel arrangements (air, hotel, car, rail).
• Ensure reservations meet client standards and preferences.
• Offer informed recommendations to optimize travel experience.
• Handle basic to moderately complex bookings, including multi-destinations.
• Raise the most complex bookings to more experienced staff.
• Participate in comprehensive training and use internal resources to stay updated.
• This role primarily supports phone and walk-in travelers.

In this role, you'll join our U.S. Military and Government team, specializing in seamless travel management services to our federal clients.

As a Travel Consultant, you will provide outstanding customer service to defense & government travelers before, during, and after their business trips. Through our winning combination of outstanding people and innovative technology, we're focused on ensuring that the travel experience of our customers is unforgettable from start to finish, for all the right reasons.

What You'll Do

• Create and complete travel arrangements (air, hotel, car, rail)
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences.
• Act as a trusted advisor by offering informed and insightful recommendations that provide the best travel experience.
• Handle basic and moderately complex bookings with potentially non-standard and multi-destinations, ticket exchanges, and complex fares.
• Raise most complex bookings to more experienced staff.
• Assignments include both routine and non-routine work.
• Benefit from comprehensive training by experienced colleagues and use our social intranet to always stay up-to-date.
• This position supports mainly phones and walk ins.

We accept Military experience/certifications as a substitute for some requirements.

The US national base salary range for this position is from $38.000 - $66.000K Annually. The national range provided includes the base salary that the company expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
