We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and possess the necessary skills to manage high workloads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to patients, including airway management and intubation.
• Administer treatments such as nebulizations, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator management.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and bedside pulmonary function tests (PFTs).
• Assist in the management of ventilators and engage in interdisciplinary team meetings for patient care planning.
• Conduct routine assessments of patients’ respiratory needs and respond accordingly to changes in patient condition.
• Help conduct bronchial hygiene practices and assist in various diagnostic procedures.
• Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory care and treatment options.

Unit Information

The Respiratory Therapy unit operates with a team dynamic, where therapists work collaboratively to deliver care to an average of 13 to 15 patients per shift, with a minimum of 550 minutes of therapy per shift. Therapists are expected to manage high volumes of treatments and maintain proficiency in critical respiratory care techniques.

Additional Notes

• Therapists must demonstrate comfort and proficiency with intubation and various high-intensity procedures.
• All staff will engage in a structured orientation process to familiarize themselves with the hospital protocols and electronic medical records system, Meditech.
• Weekend and holiday shifts are expected to be rotated with permanent staff members.
