Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week assignment in Paulsboro, New Jersey. The role requires 30 hours per week with 10-hour daytime shifts, and travel employment. State licensure and NBCOT COTA certification are required, along with 1 year of OTA experience.

Under OT supervision, you will implement treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient independence and safety. BLS is also required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OTA experience required.
• Current BLS and NBCOT COTA certification.
• State licensure in NJ or applicable state required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.

We're looking for Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) for an immediate travel opening in Paulsboro, NJ.

As a OTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients of all ages develop, improve, or recover the skills needed for daily living and working. You will assist in implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals and functional abilities.

As an OTA, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.

Must have 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. The ideal candidate must hold a current BLS and COTA National certification. State-specific licensure is required.

OTAs should be able to lift and assist patients safely, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess a solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.
