Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment in Lanham, Maryland. The position runs for 16 weeks at 35 hours per week, with dayshift hours and travel employment status.

The OTA will work under the supervision of an OT to help patients develop, improve, or recover daily living and work-related skills, and implement individualized treatment plans. Must have 1 year of OTA experience, BLS, NBCOT (COTA), and state licensure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OTA experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• COTA National certification and state licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions under the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.

We're looking for Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) for an immediate travel opening in Lanham, MD.

As a OTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients of all ages develop, improve, or recover the skills needed for daily living and working. You will assist in implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals and functional abilities.

As an OTA, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

OTAs should be able to lift and assist patients safely, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess a solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.
