Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment in Vaux Hall, New Jersey. You will work under the supervision of an OT to help patients develop, improve, or recover daily living and work skills, delivering tailored treatment plans.

Expect 13-week duration, 30 hours/week, and 10-hour day shifts. Requirements include a year of OTA experience, BLS and NBCOT (COTA), plus state licensure.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).
• Current BLS and NBCOT (COTA) certification required.
• State licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.

You will assist in implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient's goals and functional abilities.As an OTA, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

OTAs should be able to lift and assist patients safely, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess a solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.
