Modern Healthcare Solutions is seeking a travel Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technologist in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The role supports invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures, including pacemaker placements, with exposure to CVIS and radiation safety considerations.

The position requires 2+ years in a Cath Lab, CVT training or equivalent, and certification readiness. Travel assignment spans 13 weeks, with 40 hours/week on 10-hour daytime shifts, Monday–Friday with some on-call as per policy.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completion of six (6) to twelve (12) months in a CVT accredited program or two (2) years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
• Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
• Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize specific equipment and sterile trays for each procedure.
• Assist the procedure room team with patient positioning and monitoring preparation.
• Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
• Support physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Load and operate power injectors and associated sterile support equipment.
• Operate table controls for physicians as requested; Radiology Technologist maneuvers fluoroscopy as needed.
• Calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment; obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data and computerized ventriculography data.
• Calculate and record cardiac output and oximetry readings.
• Utilize and maintain standards for the operation of digital cine technologies, including storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic records.
• Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure devices while maintaining hemostasis at the access site.
• Manage inventory control, maintain PAR levels, and prepare required equipment for procedures.
• Adhere to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS).
• Operate equipment safely and care for supplies as necessary.
• Participate in catheterization lab call responsibilities as determined by organizational policy.
• Apply radial access banding while maintaining hemostasis at the access site.
• Recognize and interpret all cardiac arrhythmias.
• Assist with maintenance, calibration, and periodic evaluation of diagnostic and technical equipment.
• Lift a minimum of 40 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 100 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 4 hours daily.
• Identify and address the needs of the patient population served, adapting care that is specific to these needs.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards per organizational policy.
• Promote a professional environment through role modeling and behavior consistent with organizational core values.
