Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years experience in coronary and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures for an acute care hospital cath lab.
Details
- Acute care hospital with 150 staffed beds
- Daily caseload of 8-12 cases
- Procedures include coronary diagnostic and intervention, peripheral vascular diagnostic and intervention, and permanent pacemaker placement
- Uses Epic EMR (preferred experience)
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- No weekend requirement
- Call requirement
- No floating requirement per posting, though travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- ARRT-R, BLS, and ACLS certification required
- Fluoroscopy Permit required (license required if applicable); candidates with a pending permit already applied for will be considered
- RCIS not accepted in lieu of ARRT; CCI RCIS preferred, or acceptable with 5+ years experience
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including PCI, PTCA, left and right heart catheterization, and pacemaker insertion
- Additional preferred skills in hemodynamic monitoring, Impella insertion, cardioversion, and AICD insertion/programming
- Familiarity with fluoroscopy equipment and PACS system
- Compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted and approved at time of consideration; flexibility for facility-requested schedule changes is expected
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
Additional Information
- Perform coronary and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures, including permanent pacemaker insertions
- Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility
- Approximately 30 hours of orientation required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted, typically at a lower bill rate; 50-mile radius rule applies for local candidate status
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister Providence facilities in the region
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
- RTO requests must be submitted and approved at time of consideration; flexibility for facility-requested schedule changes is expected
- Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Facility offers assistance with housing resources for travelers, including realtor support if needed
- Located in Eureka, California, near multiple state and national parks including coastal and redwood forest areas
