Job summary

Amergis is seeking an RN for Cath Lab travel assignments in Hazard, KY. The role involves assisting the medical team during cardiac catheterizations, monitoring vitals, medication administration, and patient education.

Frequent collaboration with doctors, nurses, and staff ensures safe, efficient care. Requirements include an active RN license, ACLS may be required, and at least 2 years in critical care or Cath Lab; CPR may be needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with current state license
• ACLS may be required by state/client contract
• Minimum 2 years critical care or Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Participation in Amergis competency program when applicable
• CPR certification if applicable
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Health certificate per contract or state regulation
• Meets federal, state and local requirements
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to elicit/provide information

Responsibilities

• Administers patient medications
• Assists in diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Circulates and scrub during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Provides discharge teaching to patients and families
• Ensures accurate consent paperwork
• Pre/post examen of catheterization patients
• Manages administrative aspects of catheterization and electrophysiology patients
• Monitors and documents vital signs
• Monitors for infections or side effects
• Monitors sedation levels during and after procedures
• Prepares patients for procedures
