Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a short-term acute care hospital in Washington. The role requires at least 1 year of experience and certifications (BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R or RCIS). Epic charting is used for patient records and documentation.

The position involves diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (PCI, TAVR, EPS, ablations, AICD), structured heart cases, and electrophysiology support. Shifts are 4x10 hours, with on-call duties and travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT-R or RCIS certification required (not both)
• WA state RT or CIS license required (not both) - license required if applicable
• Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience required
• Rhythm interpretation skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Cath Lab and EP unit duties in a 325-bed acute care hospital
• Perform diagnostic procedures including PCI (stents, balloon angioplasty, laser, rotablator, Impella, IABP, CTO)
• Structural Heart procedures including TAVR, balloon valvuloplasty, and Watchman
• Electrophysiology procedures including EPS, Afib/flutter ablations, and BIV pacemaker implants
• Use Epic for charting
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call one day per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks
• EKG lead placement, room circulator duties, and maintaining sterile field as scrub
• Electrophysiology procedures including arrhythmia induction, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, and AICD insertion/programming
• Cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, cardiac stent placement, and temporary pacemaker insertion
• Coil embolization skills preferred
• Travelers may float between sister facilities
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for travel contracts
• Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period
• Must be willing to work 3 of 5 major holidays
