Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for Cedar Rapids, IA. The PCU travel RN will monitor cardiac patients, manage IVs and medications, and respond quickly to evolving conditions. Strong bedside skills and stability in a fast-paced setting are essential.

The role requires 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, BLS/ACLS, and willingness to travel. 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts with a travel employment type, offering weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience preferred.
• Progressive Care/PCU experience a plus.
• BLS/ACLS required or must be obtained prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays; respond to changes.
• Initiate action when monitoring signals indicate issues.
