Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Cardiac Sonographer to work in Greenwood, South Carolina. This 13-week assignment offers 40 hours per week in dayshift, with a travel designation and tax-free stipend details to be confirmed.

The Echo Tech will operate cardiac ultrasound equipment, perform Doppler studies, stress echo, and transesophageal echocardiograms as required, while maintaining patient records and using McKesson PACS for image management. BLS and ARDMS/CCI certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of echocardiography experience.
• Current BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS certifications; state licensing if required.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and knowledge of anatomy/physiology.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in echocardiographic studies with Doppler/Color Doppler.
• Acquire Stress Echo and Dobutamine images per standards.
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms as required.
• Maintain patient records and report findings to the physician.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; use McKesson PACS for imaging.

We are looking for an Echocardiogram Technologist (Echo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Greenwood, SC. The right Echo Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As an Echo Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the cardiac ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. Echo Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing echocardiograms.

Tasks

As an Echo Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
• Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams
• Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
• Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
• Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images
• Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
• Perform all related processing required for each completed study
• Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification and state-specific licensing when required.

Echo Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Echo Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
