Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. The 15-bed progressive care unit uses telemetry and step-down ICU coverage, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts.

• Will float to all acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Provide nursing care, telemetry monitoring, read strips, and perform fingerstick blood sugars.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry RN with a Hawaii license and acute hospital experience for a 15-bed progressive care unit position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with both step-down ICU and telemetry beds
• Cares for cardiac progressive care and step-down ICU patients
• Patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week on varied shifts following orientation
• Uses Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medications, with continuous cardiac monitoring and BIPAP equipment
• Will float to all acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
• No on-call responsibilities
• Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care, telemetry monitoring, reading strips, and performing fingerstick blood sugars
• NIHSS and PALS certifications are preferred
• Scrubs are required as the dress code
• Anticipate start procedures by arriving in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start for Employee Health onboarding on Friday
• COVID-19 vaccination is required

Requirements
