Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Technologist for a Cardiac Catheterization Lab in New Jersey. The role requires BLS certification and experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures.

Shifts are 3x12s (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 8:00 AM–8:30 PM) with on-call requirements; no weekend shifts. Position supports local candidates and may involve floating to a sister hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
• BLS required; RCIS and ACLS certification preferred.
• Active NJ license required if applicable.
• Minimum of two years experience as Cardiac Invasive Technologist preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic and cardiac/peripheral interventional procedures.
• Must be able to take STEMI call.
• Knowledge of catheters, wires, stents, and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting caring for adult and geriatric patients.
• 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
• No weekend shifts required.
• On-call required.
• May float to a nearby sister hospital as needed.
• Uses Epic for charting.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, scrubbing in as needed.
• Function in all roles including case recorder, cardiac circulator, and scrub assistant.
• Prepare patients for examinations and monitor/report clinical changes to RN or physician.
• Perform point-of-care testing per CLIA guidelines.
• Document all procedures including labeling, identifying studies, and entering charges.
• Maintain sterile procedures and infection prevention standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, assist team members, and replenish supplies as needed.
• Local candidates accepted.
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment.
