Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians for nationwide deployments. This contract role requires traveling full-time, with a company vehicle and fuel card provided, to install and service copper/fiber cabling, WAPs, IP cameras, and related infrastructure.

Work will involve coordinating with electrical teams, testing terminations, and ensuring safety and quality on-site across retail and commercial environments.

Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale deployment projects preferred.
  • Ability to read floor plans, site drawings, and cable schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route, secure, and terminate copper and fiber cabling across sites.
  • Perform RJ45 terminations and cable testing to verify connectivity.
  • Install and configure Wireless Access Points (WAPs) in retail and commercial environments.
  • Replace legacy camera systems with IP-based surveillance solutions.
  • Install IP cameras, network cabinets, racks, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Pull, dress, label, and organize cabling to project standards.
  • Install and support network switches and related networking hardware.
  • Run and terminate fiber and copper network connections.
  • Install low-voltage power cabling and assist with power installations.
  • Coordinate with electrical teams and install EMT conduit, junction boxes, and pull boxes.
  • Install Public Video Monitor systems and associated connections.
  • Maintain documentation, labeling, and quality control.

Low Voltage Technician (100% Travel) Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians to support large-scale retail and commercial technology deployments nationwide. This role involves installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber cabling, wireless access points, IP cameras, network equipment, and low-voltage power systems.


This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy travel, hands-on installations, and working on high-profile technology upgrade projects. Technicians will travel full-time for the duration of the project, with a company vehicle and fuel card provided.


Key Responsibilities


  • Install, route, secure, and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.

  • Perform RJ45 terminations and cable testing to verify connectivity and performance.

  • Install and configure Wireless Access Points (WAPs) in retail and commercial environments.

  • Replace legacy camera systems with new IP-based surveillance solutions.

  • Install and mount IP cameras, network cabinets, racks, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Pull, dress, label, and organize copper and fiber cabling according to project standards.

  • Install and support network switches and related networking hardware.

  • Run and terminate fiber optic and copper network connections.

  • Install low-voltage power cabling and support equipment connectivity.

  • Assist with power installations and coordinate with electrical teams as needed.

  • Install EMT conduit, junction boxes, pull boxes, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Install Public Video Monitor (PVM) systems and associated power and network connections.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and quality control standards.

  • Safely operate scissor lifts and elevated work platforms.

  • Follow all customer, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • Lift certification preferred.

  • Willingness and ability to travel full-time.
