Job summary

System Support in Ohio seeks a Respiratory Therapist to perform respiratory assessment, therapy, evaluation, testing and patient education. You will coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient experience and ensure compliance with Ohio Respiratory Care Laws and institutional policies.

The RT I role may require licensure as per state regulations and ongoing credential maintenance. This position emphasizes professionalism and excellence in respiratory care delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Associate degree.
• NBRC registered RBRC credential required.
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days of hire; PALS within 6 months of hire.

Job description

The Respiratory Therapist functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served. The Respiratory Therapist will coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient experience. The RT I is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

• Type of degree: Applied Science or Equivalent
• Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements
• Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• BLS
• ACLS within 90 days of new hire or based upon course availability
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability
