Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its Special Projects Division in a travel-oriented role. Based in Franklin, TN, this position supports turnkey project execution across concrete, steel, millwright, and finishes, leveraging decades of experience to meet client needs.

The successful candidate will supervise field operations, coordinate with GC/Owner, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards on diverse projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years in the construction industry with at least four years of hands-on construction experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to deliver accurate reports and presentations.
• Ability to analyze situations, extract implications, and propose pragmatic actions.
• Proven planning and supervision capabilities; develop subordinates and improve methods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project safety compliance and enforce safety audits.
• Monitor project cost, spread, and schedule; track progress and productions.
• Coordinate with GC/Owner; review drawings and specs; procure materials/equipment.
• Manage change orders and document revisions; maintain tool inventory and logs.
• Travel as required; work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
