Job summary

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience
  • Experience auditing Defense Travel System (DTS) travel authorizations and vouchers for compliance with DoD FMR, JTR and GTCC policies
  • Experience providing expert advice, guidance and training to travelers on travel regulations, DTS requirements and GTCC programs

Job description

You will serve as a TRAVEL AND PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST within the Command Services Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND.

GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service (or equivalent private/public sector experience) performing the following: Reviewing and approving documentation for completeness and accuracy regarding travel eligibility and entitlements. Conducting audits of Defense Travel System (DTS) travel authorizations and vouchers to ensure compliance with the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and other travel/Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) policies. Identifying and reporting system or travel-related problems/errors to the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) or appropriate personnel for resolution. Providing expert advice, guidance, and training to travelers on travel regulations, DTS program requirements, and GTCC program administration.

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Creating reports to track the status of travel documents and ensuring timely processing; 2) Establishing processes and procedures to achieve program requirements; 3) Assisting in ensuring travel authorizations and vouchers have been reviewed for completeness and accuracy; and 4) Assisting in troubleshooting, determining status of travel orders, managing travel, and working with systems to process voucher payments.
