Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to review medical records and perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations. The role requires assessing cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals and completing VA-required documentation without prescribing or ongoing patient management.

You will review records before evaluations, prepare detailed medical reports, and ensure compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board certification in Neurology or Psychiatry or Physical Medicine & Rehab is required or equivalent.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) C&P examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified in one of the following specialties:
• Neurology
• Psychiatry
• Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Physiatry)
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
