Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Coordinator for UofL Hospital, 8E Medical Trauma. The role supports RN-led patient care with clerical and basic clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, EKG placement, and data collection on the unit.

The position is part-time, PRN, with rotating shifts in Louisville, KY. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved Clinical Assistant/MA/EMT program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Active state CNA/ CMA/ EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes and computes physician orders and messages accurately.
• Maintains patient records and admission/discharge charts.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and basic patient care tasks.
• Handles communications and coordinates with nursing staff and physicians.
• Ensures HIPAA privacy and safety procedures are followed.
