WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Behavioral Health and Crisis Services isseekinga highly motivated and experienced Therapist I/II to join our Trauma Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, human trafficking, and general crimes including homicide, physical assault, etc.Behavioral Health and Crisis Services isseekinga highly motivated and experienced Therapist I/II to join our Trauma Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, human trafficking, and general crimes including homicide, physical assault, etc.
This position plays a crucial role in helping survivors’ domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, human trafficking, and general crimes including homicide, physical assault, etc. to overcome challenges and help them heal and better integrate into life after victimization. The therapist I/IIis responsible forbut not limited to the following:
Provides individual and groupcounselingservices to survivors (adults and children)
Provides crisis intervention
Completes intakes
Conducts assessments including danger assessments, PCL, DVSA, CSSR
Develop comprehensive service plans
Screens cases for ongoing needs including basic needs, psychiatricconsultationsand medication management
Implementappropriate therapeuticinterventions
Serves as a liaison with MCPS school clusters to provide outreach and ongoing services to MCPS students who are survivors of crime
Provides case management services to survivors on their caseload as well as those walking into the program to be screened for services
Oversee volunteers who provide 24/7 outreach services in hospitals and police stations
Collaborates with Victim Advocates in cases with criminal justice involvement or crime victim compensation issues.
Maintains all records per HIPAA, VAWA, VOCA and FPSA standards of confidentiality.
Completes clinical documentation, accurately, thoroughly, andtimely.
This position may also serve court mandated clients who may be both victims, respondents and or defendants of domestic violence cases. This position may provide services to clients at schools and/or college campuses. This position requires knowledge of collecting statistics and grant reporting. This position may work with bothcourtordered survivors and offenders of the Abuse Intervention Program.
Therapist I Level:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMaster's Degree in clinicalor counselling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related Behavioral science field.
Experience:None
Equivalency:None
License Requirement:One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment, andmaintainedby, the employee:
Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or
Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).
Possession and maintenance at all times of a: Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence whenrequiredfor job-related duties.
Therapist II Level:
Education:Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMaster’s Degree in clinicalor counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field.
Experience:Two (2) years of professional experiencerenderingtherapeutic counseling, social work,nursingor psychology services, as pertinent to one’s professional licensing.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment of, andmaintainedby, the employee:
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC);
Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT);
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC);
Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C);
Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States, certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric MentalHealthNurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or
Licensed Psychologist
Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.

Experience working with survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and General Crimes
Experience in providing crisis intervention, directindividualand/or group clinical counseling
Experience providing psychosocial assessments, service planning and case management services
Has knowledge of, and skill in, a full range of therapeutic concepts, theories, principles, methods, techniques
Bilingual in Spanish, French, Mandarin, or Arabic
