The Trauma Therapist provides trauma-focused clinical services to children, adolescents, and families through the SAMHSA-funded Centerstone Trauma and Grief Treatment (C-TGT) program. This role delivers standardized assessments, evidence-based trauma treatment, and therapeutic interventions for children ages 3-17 who have experienced trauma, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, traumatic loss, and other trauma-related stressors. The Trauma Therapist provides individual and family therapy, actively involving caregivers in the treatment process to support healing and long-term recovery. Services are provided across Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto counties. The position also offers opportunities to collaborate with national trauma experts through participation in National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) meetings and related initiatives. Ideal candidates for this Centerstone Trauma & Grief Treatment position will have at least two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families impacted by trauma. This position is available in other programs.
Education Level Master's Degree required.
Years of Experience Must have experience with mental health and/or co-occurring issues. One year of relevant experience is preferred.
Certification/Licensure Must have a valid FL driver's license.
Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Salary Range: $36,379 - $50,981 Time Type: Full time Pay Range: $41,700.00--$58,450.00
