Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Graduate Nurse Residency Program participant for the Trauma Surgical unit. This full-time RN role offers a structured transition into the nursing world on a 24-bed unit, with responsibilities including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a designated patient group.

New graduates must hold a temporary practice permit or RN license and obtain AHA BLS before orientation ends; they must enroll in a BSN program

Qualifications

• Graduate Nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• AHA BLS required prior to end of orientation period
• Employer expects enrollment in BSN within one year of hire and completion within four years (policy)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a designated group of patients on a 24-bed trauma/surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and patient outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams to support patient care on the unit
