Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT supports a decentralized, patient-centered approach and collaborates with the health care team to achieve outcomes.

The role requires at least 1 year of patient care experience in a health care setting, or related education, and current Basic Life Support certification. Flexible shifts and 36 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include at least 1 year of work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
