The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a decentralized, patient-centered care approach under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include multi-skilled tasks to achieve optimal patient outcomes while working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent, with several pathways for PCT II advancement such as additional healthcare education or CNA/CMA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for PCT I.
• For PCT II, ONE of the following must be met: Associate or Bachelor's degree; 1 year in MUSC CHS as PCT I; 1 year experience in a healthcare facility; nursing school enrollment with Nursing Fundamentals; enrollment in healthcare-related field; CNA/CMA certification.

Responsabilités

• Assist with multi-skilled tasks under RN supervision to support patient-centered care.
• Perform activities to achieve desired patient outcomes in a decentralized care model.
• Maintain ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
