Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE invites applications for the APP Surgical Care - Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellow. This 12-month, full-time post graduate program supports the transition from academic preparation to clinical practice for new or experienced APPs seeking advanced training in trauma and surgical critical care.

Fellows will gain supervised clinical practice, mentorship, and formal didactic education, preparing for independent practice in high-acuity settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing; active RN license in Nebraska or compact state.
• APRN/PA certification mandatory; DEA license; BLS/ACLS/ATLS as required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in supervised clinical practice led by experienced APPs and physicians.
• Engage in dedicated mentorship and professional development.
• Rotate through elective opportunities to broaden trauma and critical care knowledge.
• Attend formal didactic education covering trauma and critical care concepts.
• Develop advanced clinical acumen and procedural skills for independent practice after completion.
