Based at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, the fellowship provides hands-on clinical training, simulation labs, off-service rotations, and APP-led mentorship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program or Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Current NP or PA license and DEA licensure required.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced trauma/surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform histories, physical exams, and clinical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute, trauma, and surgical conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans.
• Perform bedside procedures and assist in surgical care.
• Coordinate care, referrals, and discharge planning.
• Document care in electronic medical records and educate patients.
