Job summary

University of Cincinnati College of Medicine seeks two full-time Clinical Research Assistants to support clinical trials in the Trauma Surgery group. Roles include recruitment, screening, and enrollment assistance under supervision, with direct patient interaction and data entry responsibilities.

Positions require basic education in healthcare, plus experience in clinical settings and ability to work flex hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Two years of general workforce experience.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Willing and able to adhere to flex work schedules, including weekends.
• One year of experience in a research setting with human subjects.
• Proficiency with PCs and software/databases (EPIC, OnBase, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, nurses, and researchers during clinical studies.
• Perform routine procedures (phlebotomy, take vital signs, and EKGs) per study protocol.
• Assist with processing, storage, and shipment of research samples.
• Schedule study-related appointments and return visits.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for autoclave.
• Assist participants with registration and provide study information.
• Enter data into study data capture systems from EMRs or paper charts.
• May perform venipunctures.
• Adapt to changing departmental needs.
