Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a fellowship-trained trauma surgeon to join a busy Level II center delivering comprehensive trauma, emergency general surgery, and acute care services.

The role includes OR, rounding, clinic, and critical care responsibilities with a team of physicians and APPs, robotics integration in acute care surgery, and EPIC EMR support. J1/H1B visas welcomed; relocation and CME allowances apply.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained trauma surgeon required.
• Experience providing full trauma care in a high-volume center preferred.
• Comfort with robotic-assisted surgery in acute care.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope trauma care including operating room, rounding, clinic, and critical care.
• Participate in 15 shifts per month with day/night rotation.
• Collaborate with Pulmonary and Critical Care for CSICU coverage.
• Contribute to program development and regional trauma access.
