Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo General Surgery is seeking a bread-and-butter general surgeon to join our team. This role offers access to state-of-the-art robotics and diagnostics, with block time and shared call in a Level III trauma setting.

The opportunity spans both Waterloo Medical Center and Cedar Falls Medical Center, supporting a strong referral base and a mission-driven, non-profit environment. H-1B cap exemption and J-1 candidates accepted; relocation and CME support available.

Qualifications

• Bread-and-butter general surgery with willingness to use state-of-the-art diagnostics and robotics.
• Board certification in General Surgery required; eligible for licensure in Iowa.
• Strong referral base and ability to work across MercyOne Waterloo and Cedar Falls facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide general surgical services for MercyOne Waterloo and Cedar Falls campuses.
• Collaborate with surgical peers, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Participate in shared call and block time scheduling.
• Support growth of the general surgery program at the Level III Regional Trauma Center.
