Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon with trauma and acute care experience to join a team of surgeons across Evanston, Skokie, Glenbrook, Highland Park, and Swedish Hospital locations.

The role includes trauma coverage, elective post-op clinics, potential ICU coverage, and opportunities to oversee residency/fellowship programs through the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Teaching and research options are available.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• IL medical license or pending approval.
• DEA license required.
• BC/BE certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience preferred.

• Coverage of in-house Level 1 Trauma and Emergency General Surgery at Evanston Hospital.
• Coverage of Level 2 Trauma Call and Emergency General Surgery at Skokie, Glenbrook, Highland Park Hospitals.
• Coverage of Emergency General Surgery Call at Swedish Hospital.
• 4–6 hours per month of general surgery post op clinic.
• Optional coverage of critical care in the Surgical ICU at Evanston and Skokie Hospitals.
• Oversees Residency and Fellowship Programs through the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
• Teaching opportunities and academic appointment.
• Research opportunities available for interested candidates.

A Brief Overview:

You will join a team of 29 partners in the multispecialty General Surgery Division, specifically with 9 surgeons dedicated to acute care/trauma services. The division is also comprised of fellowship trained surgeons in critical care, colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, and hepatobiliarysubspecialties.

Responsibilities include:

• Coverage of in-house Level 1 Trauma and Emergency General Surgery at Evanston Hospital;
• Coverage of Level 2 Trauma Call and Emergency General Surgery at Skokie, Glenbrook, Highland Park Hospitals;
• Coverage of Emergency General Surgery Call at Swedish Hospital
• Four to six hours per month of general surgery post op clinic;
• Coverage (Optional) of critical care in the Surgical ICU at Evanston and Skokie Hospitals
• Oversees Residency and Fellowship Programs through the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
• Teaching opportunities, academic appointment
• Research opportunities are available for interested and qualified candidates.

Salary based on years of experience - range of $356,838 - $585,908
